Swoop Dog leads the odds in the Devonport Cup

Swoop Dog was first firmer with Ladbrokes.com.au for the feature race in the Devonport Synthetic on Wednesday, the Devonport Cup (1880m).

The John Blacker-trained gelding hasn’t had the best of records at Devonport, but he comes here off the back of an outright win in the Longford Cup last time. First put in $6.50 and got crushed, now at $4.

Alpine Wolf is a $3.60 favorite, up from $3.90. Sir Simon, who likes the track, is at $4.80 and is kept safe.
